Vashyron (ヴァシュロン Vashuron) is one of the three playable protagonists in Resonance of Fate. He is a 26-year-old man, recognizable by his blond ponytail and his black jacket. He is voiced by Nolan North in the US version and his Seiyū in Japan is Ken Narita.

Story[]

Several years ago, Rebecca was rampaging through the city of Basel, killing all humans that she could find. When she attacked Vashyron, it seemed that he would die. However, he was saved because he was a "Knight of Zenith", a person who was blessed by the Zenith system. The Zenith system intervened and created a Sacred Sign, which appeared on Rebecca's arm. This prevented Vashyron from being killed while at the same time injuring Rebecca's body and mind. Vashyron was the only one to survive Rebecca's attack on his military unit, which was directed by Cardinal Antourion. After leaving the army Vashyron turned to life as a mercenary and settled in Ebel City in Basel.

Vashyron later formed a trio of hunters with Zephyr and Leanne years later. The three of them take on various missions to earn a living.

Personality[]

On the surface, Vashyron is a carefree playboy, always making wisecracks and never seeming to take things too seriously. He is very playful and makes jokes about nearly everything, from fighting enemies to taking on missions from the Cardinals. He cares deeply for Zephyr and Leanne, often feeling that if he wasn't in the group, it would be a lot easier for their relationship to advance into something more than just friendship. Though flirtatious by nature Vashyron has slight perverted tendencies, an example of this being when he teases Leanne about her breasts, Another being when he attempted to peek under the skirt of a statue that Cardinal Jean had commissioned the construction of.

However, Vashyron has a somber side to him as well that he usually keeps reserved for certain serious matters. As the story progresses, he ends up taking on more and more missions that will have a large impact on Basel, which seems to bring out his solemn demeanor. Even so, he still finds a way to balance both sides out.

Appearance[]

Vashyron is a young man who stands at 6' with medium-length blond hair pulled back in a ponytail with loose locks framing his face at the left, and brown eyes. His default outfit consists of a black denim jacket and under which he sports a white t-shirt. He also wears blue jeans held up by a black belt with a silver buckle and black leather boots. He wears a black gun holster on his right leg. Vashyron starts the game with the 1191 .45 handgun (a look-alike of the real world Colt M1911) and is always shown with it in cutscenes regardless of which weapon is equipped. As with the other two playable characters, Vashyron's weapons, hair, and clothes can be customized later in the game.

Trivia[]

  • Vashyron performs a very amusing dance when he takes a mission from Cardinal Barbarella, commonly known as the "Vashyron Dance" by players. [1]
  • Vashyron starts the game with the 1191 .45 handgun and a hand grenade case, although these can both be switched out for alternate weapons later in the game.
  • Vashyron can be seen with his hair down in the game's intro, as during the fight with Zephyr his hair inadvertently comes undone. [2]
  • Vashyron’s jacket is often inconsistent in terms of color as his jacket is depicted as brown in the game’s intro but in-game his jacket is black. There is a time-skip in between his encounter with Zephyr and the contemporary timeline of the game so it could be two completely different jackets. Supporting evidence of this being the case is the fact that his in-game jacket is denim while his intro jacket is depicted as being leather.
  • At 26-years-old, Vashyron is the oldest of the trio.
  • Vashyron is seen in a blue undershirt in the intro although he wears a white undershirt in the past memory.
  • Vashyron by his own admission, has no cooking skills whatsoever, as he admits to Leanne that “he’s useless in the kitchen.”
  • Vashyron shares a trait with Ryo Saeba from the City Hunter series. Both of them are a main protagonist in their corresponding series, both of them share the same running gag: they like to look at beautiful females until they are hit by the female protagonist of their game, and both of them have a sense of justice.
  • Vashyron, along with Zephyr and Leanne, appear as characters in the crossover game Project X Zone. However, Vashyron is only a Support Character, whereas Zephyr and Leanne are playable partners.
    • The trio returns in Project X Zone 2, this time with Vashyron and Zephyr as a pair unit, while Leanne is a solo unit.
